Bert is a filmmaker originally from Charlotte, NC. He has worked on three senior thesis films at Penn State: Good Company (2023, Production Assistant), Frail Ground (2024, 1st Asst. Camera), and Hanging Up the Hat (2025, Co-Director of Photography), in addition to numerous student and passion projects. All of these experiences have led to his current project, Muse, for which he is the Director of Photography.  He loves on-set problem solving, immersing people into new worlds, and crafting the perfect shot. He hopes to continue working in production, specifically with cameras or at a rental house. In his free time, Bert enjoys film photography, walking around scenic locations, and listening to music.

My Favorites of Muse

His favorite set memory was the first night shooting at the eating house. It was 3am and the core team was having a late night meeting to prepare for the next day. Bryce, our sound assistant, connected to a speaker and played a knocking effect. Rachel was ready to call 911, Gabby went to grab a c-stand arm, and he went to check the door. Luckily, Bryce revealed it was him quickly after.

Favorite Location

His favorite set location was the infomercial set. It was really cool building that space, and seeing it all come together. We had a ton of meetings to talk about what it would look like. Seeing it transform and evolve after every meeting was really cool.

Favorite Line

“This scene? People will talk about it for years…or they’ll forget it by the time they leave the theater.”
